About

I am a freelance lighting designer based in Cleveland, but designs nationally.. Originally from the Seattle area, I became involved in the creative arts at a young age. Following my love of Shakespeare and theatre, I received my BFA in Theatrical Lighting Design, a BS in Psychology, and a minor in Shakespeare Studies from Southern Oregon University. After completing my MFA in Stage Design at Northwestern University, I continue to I explore the world of dance, music, opera, theatre, and visual art in professional and academic settings. 

 

As an Associate Professor of Lighting Design & Technology at Baldwin Wallace University, my scholarly work focuses on Teaching Pedagogy with a specialization in Gamification. I've received grants for the development of “Interconnected: The Tangle” a dance theatre piece about mental health and awareness based on true narratives. I teach a variety of classes including:  Fundamentals of Design and Production, Collaborative Studies, Lighting Design, and Stage Lighting Technology.

In addition to my university education, I have receive training on Intimacy choreography (Theatrical Intimacy Education), The Humanity of Inclusive Practices

Teach.Equity.Now,  Personal Work of Racial Justice, and more. I hold certifications in Mental Health First Aid, Safe Zone, and SOGIE (sexual orientation and gender identity & expression).

As a lighting designer, theatre educator, photographer, and Argentine tango instructor, I look forward to connecting with other artists and inspiring the community.
